Getting permission to build a living room in Bogota's Plaza de Bolivar, the city's main square where the government resides, was the easy part. Once we started building up, about 2 hours before sunset, news arrived that a big demonstration was headed our way, and supposed to arrive just before we would be starting the shoot. If there would be a big gathering in the square our permit would immediately be revoked by the police. So we had to move the shoot to a safer part of town, or take our chances with the demonstration of about 500 people coming to the square. We decided to take our chances. As luck would have it the police decided to seal off the square for safety reasons and block all access for the demonstration to reach it. So we had a calm shoot after all...
