Month 102 - July 2012 - Abogado, Bogota, Colombia
Probably one of the most colourful of our 'Brujos and Brujas' series, Fernando Zarama has a temple in his front yard where he performs rituals that are a mixture of Indigenous religions, buddhism, catholicism and whatever else he can find. Not so usual for an ex-director of the Colombian Customs, then the Aeronautica, in the early '90s, an epoca when he had to be escorted by 16 bodyguards and received various death threats from the drug cartels. Now he has a lawyer's office and is an advisor for the government, where he just helped form the new 'Ley del Cine', a new law intended to stimulate the movie industry, in which the government gives 40% cash back to any national or foreign movie production shot in Colombia. In his free time, he performs rituals, measures energies, cures, and organizes parties on his estate.
